NY State Second Department Appellate Court

How has your career path unfolded since graduating?

My career path since graduating has been short, but I obtained a competitive two-year fellowship with the NY State Second Department Appellate Court, where I have worked since graduation.

Where do you currently work?

NY State Second Department Appellate Court

What law tasks do you perform in your current role?

I perform legal research on cases that have been appealed to this court. I write my findings and legal conclusions in reports that provide recommendations on the outcome of the cases. The justices use the reports as part of their preparation materials before sitting for oral arguments on that case.

Where do you see yourself in five years?

I hope to move to a law firm and practice law focusing primarily on copyright and trademark law.

What is your favorite memory from law school?

My favorite memory from law school was when my co-student attorney and I attended our first client meeting while working in the Transactional Law Clinic.

How has the Innovation Law Center prepared you for your career or current position?

The Innovation Law Center has helped me in my career in two significant ways: (1) by teaching me to spot legal issues, and (2) by giving me practice writing targeted reports geared towards a specific audience.

What does being a member of the SU College of Law alumni community mean to you?

Being a part of the SU College of Law alumni community has meant being a part of a family. I have had positive experiences interacting with almost every single SU COL alumni.

Outside of your work as a lawyer, what are you passionate about?

I am passionate about board games, art, and other forms of creative expression.

What advice do you have for law students looking to enter your field?

Two pieces of advice I suggest for all law students are (1) build your network and never stop building it, and (2) build your knowledge base and never stop learning.
